Circles captures double win at the Asian Telecom Awards 2023

Winning travel product innovation and marketing campaign by Circles recognised for their customer-centric and untelco offerings.

Circles, the leading digital telco technology company, received two accolades from the Asian Telecom Awards 2023 for its digital telco, Circles.Life: 

  • The Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year was awarded to Circles.Life Australia for its Big Price Freeze campaign and,
  • The Travel Product of the Year was awarded to Jetpac by Circles.Life Singapore.

The awards programme celebrates Asia's most outstanding telecom companies for their ground-breaking achievements and initiatives, and their ability to navigate their way through market challenges whilst providing award-winning products and services to clients.

Travel Product of the Year - Singapore

Circles launched Jetpac, a new eSIM travel subscription product that promises travel freedom for all, whether you are a Circles.Life customer or not. 

Travelling comes with several risks and uncertainties. There are decisions within the control of the traveller, such as choosing the hotel to stay in, and those beyond their control, such as flight cancellations. Though always present, these inconveniences were heightened during the initial stages of border reopening, as post-COVID travel resumed.

People want to roam without being held ransom to exorbitant rates with limited data from their telco. The digitally savvy travellers want hyper convenience, delightful experiences and products that they can trust with no hidden costs. 

Jetpac was built with those needs in mind, allowing customers to activate their eSIM within minutes to get unbeatable global roaming rates across more than 50 countries, monthly hotel vouchers and free group lounge access for flight delays. Jetpac is more than just a mobile plan and data. It’s an experience. 

Thanks to Jetpac’s convenient sign-up process, Circles.Life had >1,000 new app downloads within four months of launch, achieving x10 growth in sign-ups, of which, more than 50% were new customers from other telcos. It was rated with a high product-market fit of more than 40% in a customer survey. Its launch campaign was also a huge success, achieving over 8.3 million reach in media coverage.

Marketing & Brand Initiative of the Year - Australia

In 2022, leading Australian telcos increased the cost of mobile plans as a response to global price hikes. Circles.Life did the untelco thing and responded with price lock-in for their mobile plans. Dubbed the Big Price Freeze, the campaign ran from 1 July through 31 August 2022, offering existing and new customers a price freeze on their mobile plans for the next 18 months. 

The campaign generated massive media interest with extensive coverage across national broadcast, print and online media. Within two weeks of launch, there were over 5,000 new customer sign-ups, with over 63% of those new users switching from big telco competitors.
