Vi Business secures win at Asian Telecom Awards 2025

The company was recognised for empowering MSMEs in their digital transformation with ReadyForNext MSME Growth Insights Study.

ViBusiness was recognised with the Digital Initiative of the Year - India accolade at the Asian Telecom Awards 2025 for its efforts in accelerating digital transformation amongst Indian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the “Vi Business ReadyForNext MSME Growth Insights Study.”

MSMEs form the backbone of India's economy, generating 20.51 crores employment opportunities and expected to contribute 35% to 40% of country’s GDP by 2027. To achieve this growth, digital transformation is essential to support India's vision of becoming Viksit Bharat (developed economy) by 2047.

Recognising the crucial role of digital adoption, the Government of India (GoI) introduced several key initiatives and policies to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and boost competitiveness.

As a steadfast partner of GoI, Vi Business, the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea, launched India's largest MSME digital maturity assessment and evaluation study, covering 1.9 lakh (190, 000) MSMEs. The Vi Business ReadyForNext MSME Growth Insights Study assesses the digital maturity of MSMEs across 16 sectors, including IT & ITeS, financial services, transportation, construction, retail, agriculture, and manufacturing.

Arvind Nevatia, Chief Executive Business Officer at Vi, stated, “The extensive study highlights the encouraging progress being made by small businesses in India as well as the challenges that remain in their digital transformation.”

According to the Digital Maturity Index (DMI), IT & ITeS (63.3), financial services (62.3), and transportation (61.4) emerged as the most digitally advanced sectors.

Notably, 43% of MSMEs plan to increase their digitalisation budgets in 2025. In terms of strategic priorities, MSMEs in the fiscal year 2025 are focussing more on business process digitalisation (59%), compared to workspace optimisation (29%) and customer engagement (12%).

The ReadyforNext MSME Digital Maturity Survey 2024 also established a strong correlation between digital maturity and turnover, revealing a 17% likelihood of increased revenue with greater digital adoption. Furthermore, in approximately 70% of MSMEs, digitalisation efforts are spearheaded by CXOs, resulting in a 14% higher DMI compared to those led by mid-level management.

Vi Business Digital Assessment Tool is available in English and also in Hindi to ensure wider coverage across tier 2 & tier 3 cities to further support MSMEs on their digital journey.

The Asia Telecom Awards recognises exceptional accomplishments within the telecom industry in the Asia Pacific region. It also highlights the journey of telecom companies that have driven progress and ignited transformative shifts within the sector.
