Dayamitra Telekomunikasi clinches Asian Telecom Awards for transformative growth
It has successfully acquired more than 22,000 towers since 2019.
Telecom Tower Company, PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi, Tbk. (Mitratel) won the Wholesale Company Initiative of the Year - Indonesia category at the recently held Asian Telecom Awards 2024 for its recent portfolio developments that resulted in strong growth.
Mitratel has recently concluded its IPO process from 2021, with a proceeds value of 18.8 trillion, making it the largest IPO in Indonesia SOE history. This has attracted much interest from potential reputable investors, which has been reflected in the share offering procedure by successfully recording a pooling over of subscriptions by 5.35x. This corporate action is a part of the company's commitment to transforming as well as structuring the company's portfolio to deliver the optimal value for Shareholders.
Mitratel has transformed to be the leading telecom tower provider in Southeast Asia in terms of tower ownership, with a significant number of 38K tower units located throughout Indonesia, and high room for growth aligned with additional tenancy. This fastest-growing independent tower operator in Indonesia achieved significant growth in its financial performance and became the consolidator champion in the regional tower market by successfully acquiring an impressive portfolio of over 22K tower assets successfully since 2019.
Mitratel's portfolio provides a unique competitive advantage wherein mostly located in ex-Java and is difficult for other tower providers to replicate given the massive number and distribution of the towers, which is in line with the expansion focus of major cellular operators in Indonesia to outside Java.
As a part of its transformation program to shift from a conventional tower company to a dominant infrastructure provider in the region, Mitratel has begun to offer a more comprehensive telecommunications infrastructure service. In 2023, Mitratel began operating in the Fiber To the Tower (FTTT) sector with 32K Km, also Power as Service (PaaS) with 1.5K Sites to offer improved services and value to mobile operators.
In the near future, Mitratel is planning to provide advanced integrated infrastructure shared services for MNOs such as active equipment sharing (RAN and Antenna), Edge Computing, IoT, and Small Cells. Mitratel has successfully begun restructuring and reinforcing the basics of its digital infrastructure business and is on its way to becoming a prominent digital infrastructure company.
