PT Eka Mas Republik bags accolades at Asian Telecom Awards for digital, infrastructure initiatives

Its initiatives are designed to cater to evolving needs and requirements, as well as future developments.

PT Eka Mas Republik (MyRepublic) brought home the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year - Indonesia and the Data Management Initiative of the Year - Indonesia category wins at the recently held Asian Telecom Awards 2024 for its infrastructure initiatives that have delved through innovative strategies in System, Workforce, and Materials, as well as its digital initiative through Network Information System Application (NISA). This marks the second consecutive year that MyRepublic has won the Infrastructure Initiatives of the Year award from the Asian Telecom Awards.

The company’s System initiative revolves around the implementation of an integrated Geographic Information System (GIS), that allows the New Roll Out (NRO) Team to analyse infrastructure and coverage areas, enables the Sales Team to visualise network coverage to customers' homes, and provides the Operations Team with more efficient infrastructure maintenance routes.

GIS has surpassed MyRepublic’s goal of reaching 1.5 million additional homes passed in 2023, becoming a key part of the company’s operations by fostering collaboration across teams and streamlining processes.

Whilst, its Workforce initiative revolves around its Project Training programme that introduces an innovative approach to enhancing the competency of MyRepublic’s rollout team. This six-month programme, comprising evaluation tests, user case assessments, and quality surveys, sets a new standard for workforce development in the rollout team.

The effectiveness of the Project Training initiative is measured by the elevated competence of MyRepublic’s rollout team, ensuring quality rollouts in the field. The impact is not only internal but radiates externally, contributing to the success of MyRepublic's infrastructure development.

On the other hand, MyRepublic's Materials initiative focuses on streamlining the use of materials in project rollout implementations. The innovation lies in the implementation of a system that monitors material usage during design reviews. By setting logic limits, the system provides feedback, minimising excessive material use without compromising network quality.

This initiative resulted in the substantial 15% reduction in cost-per-homes passed, which has positively impacted the company’s finances without compromising the integrity and quality of the network. It has also set a precedent for responsible and efficient material management in the company.

“Each initiative, meticulously designed and executed, showcases MyRepublic’s unwavering commitment to excellence in infrastructure development, marking a significant milestone in MyRepublic’s mission to provide fast and reliable internet service for people in Indonesia,” the company said.

Meanwhile, MyRepublic has also introduced NISA to enable relevant teams to access valid and updated data from a centralised source. NISA now enables uniform access to a shared data source, ensuring consistency among the related teams.

The application serves as the data reference for various integrated systems utilised in MyRepublic, offering a thorough overview of the entire network. It records data ranging from OTT channels and private cloud information to partnership link data. It also incorporates a third-party escalation procedure.

As NISA holds the data source, it can generate dashboards showcasing various metrics like incoming requests, productivity, problem identification, and more. These dashboards serve as valuable tools for the team, aiding in drawing conclusions and making informed decisions.

“MyRepublic believes embracing digitalisation is vital for staying competitive in today's fast-paced business world. Acknowledging the crucial role of data centralisation, MyRepublic aims to fully leverage its data for a forward-thinking approach to navigating the digital era,” the company said.
