Philippines' PLDT tests bundled solar-internet plans for homes
The telecom firm started trials of the newsubscription model.
Philippine telco giant PLDT is exploring collaboration with a solar energy provider to combine internet services with residential solar power systems for Filipino households.
The telecommunications provider said in a press release that it is testing an offering that would bundle high-speed broadband with solar energy installations under a single subscription plan.
This would allow customers to pay for solar infrastructure through monthly instalments over several years, reducing upfront installation costs.
PLDT said early test marketing activities showed consumer interest in the combined internet and energy service.
The proposal forms part of PLDT Home’s plan to expand beyond connectivity services into broader home solutions.
Butch Jimenez, Chief Operating Officer of PLDT, said the plan targets consumers who aim to “future-proof their homes.”
The initiative reflects the company’s plan to develop integrated home service offerings that combine telecommunications and energy solutions.
