Philippine mobile revenue to exceed $5b by 2030

GlobalData said growth will be driven by mobile data services and wider 5G adoption.

The Philippines’ total mobile services revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.6% from $4b in 2025 to over $5b in 2030, according to GlobalData.

The growth will be driven mainly by mobile data services, supported by the continued expansion of 5G networks.

GlobalData said mobile data service revenue is projected to increase at a 6% CAGR from 2025 to 2030, in line with the adoption of higher-ARPU 5G services.

By contrast, mobile voice service revenue is expected to decline at a 9.7% CAGR over the same period, reflecting lower mobile voice average revenue per user.

5G penetration in the Philippines is forecast to reach 77% by the end of 2030. GlobalData said this could also support the wider adoption of M2M and IoT services.

Average monthly mobile data usage is expected to rise from 8.9 GB in 2025 to about 15.3 GB in 2030, driven by higher consumption of online video and mobile gaming.

4G will remain the leading mobile technology by subscriptions until 2028. However, 5G subscriptions are projected to overtake 4G, accounting for 61% of total mobile subscriptions by 2030.

Globe Telecom led the Philippine mobile services market by subscriptions in 2025 and is expected to remain the leader through 2030, with PLDT following.

Dito Telecommunity is also expected to seek a larger market share through network expansion and competitive bundled plans.

GlobalData said operators will need to balance rapid 5G expansion with network quality, competitive pricing pressure, and device affordability to accelerate migration to 5G.
