Singtel, partners deploy first multi-operator eSIM network for enterprise IoT

The system allows businesses to manage devices across multiple networks.

Singtel Group, Thales, Optus, AIS, and Globe Telecom have launched what they say is the first multi-operator enterprise eSIM network for Internet of Things (IoT), allowing companies to manage connected devices across multiple countries and mobile networks through a single platform.

The system, developed with Bridge Alliance operators Singtel, Optus, AIS, and Globe Telecom and based on Thales’ IoT eSIM technology, allows businesses to deploy devices without relying on one mobile operator.

It has been tested to coordinate connectivity across devices and different operators and is being prepared for commercial rollout by the four operators, with plans to add more providers.

Using the GSMA’s SGP.32 eSIM standard, the platform enables IoT devices to switch automatically to participating mobile networks as they move between countries.

This removes the need to replace SIM cards or manually update device connections when operating across borders.

Research firm GlobalData estimates cellular IoT connections in Asia-Pacific will grow to 1.3 billion by 2030, driven by increased adoption across automotive, retail, utilities, logistics, and industrial sectors.
