China Telecom (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd triumphs at Asian Telecom Awards 2025 with three accolades
The company was recognised for its efficient data centre, submarine cable system, and cloud-network autonomous operations.
China Telecom (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd reaped wins at the Asian Telecom Awards 2025, securing the accolades in the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year - Singapore, Submarine Telecom Company of the Year - Singapore, and Telecom Solutions Provider of the Year - Singapore categories.

These honours reflect the company’s leadership standing in digital infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region.
Cutting-edge data centre
China Telecom opened its new Internet Data Centre located in the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) in Jakarta, offering advanced technology and reliability for high-demand industries.
Being the first in the region to use advanced liquid cooling technology, this innovative system improves energy efficiency and cuts power consumption by up to 30%. It also stands out by offering flexible, custom colocation options, allowing clients to create tailored setups to meet their specific needs.
The facility is also built with dual water supply systems and multiple power sources to ensure continuous operation even during disruptions.
The data centre is designed to handle demanding workloads, making it attractive to top clients in industries like artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics. With a capacity to support 20 MW of IT load, it ensures high availability and performance. Its Uptime Tier III certification guarantees that it can handle critical tasks with minimal downtime.
Furthermore, the centre has full CCTV surveillance, strict access controls, and perimeter alarms, making it a safe environment for sensitive data.
The facility's energy-efficient operations also help reduce both costs and its carbon footprint. It is designed to evolve alongside growing technology needs, particularly in edge computing, where data is processed closer to its source for faster response times. This makes it an ideal solution for emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and other advanced digital solutions.
Game-changing submarine cable system
China Telecom has made a major leap in the submarine telecom industry with the successful landing of the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) at Hong Kong’s first and only carrier-neutral cable landing station (CLS) in Chung Hom Kok.
The ADC system is the largest of its kind in Asia, with the highest number of fibre pairs and the ability to handle over 140 terabits per second (Tbps) of data. This new infrastructure is designed to meet the growing demand for high-bandwidth applications like 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), AI, and cloud services in the Asia-Pacific region.
The ADC system is a breakthrough in submarine cable technology, offering an unmatched combination of fibre count and transmission capacity. It allows businesses to connect seamlessly to a variety of carriers and cloud providers, including China Telecom’s services.
Moreover, with the ADC system, China Telecom is significantly improving regional connectivity across Asia. By linking to Hong Kong’s extensive data centre network, the ADC system supports faster digital transformation for businesses in all sectors. It allows companies to expand confidently and innovate in the digital economy.
Cloud-network autonomous operations
China Telecom has taken a major step forward in its "Cloudification, Digitisation, and Intelligent Transformation" strategy with the launch of its groundbreaking Cloud-Network Autonomous Operations initiative.
This project aims to simplify the complex integration of cloud and network services, creating an innovative, intelligent operational model that adapts to the evolving needs of the industry. It introduces a completely new way of managing cloud and network services together, combining cloud and network services into one seamlessly operated system that is powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
This initiative has already made a significant impact on China Telecom’s operations. It has sped up service launch times by 300% and improved service quality. By 2023, China Telecom achieved Level 3 (L3) autonomy, which means that 95% of the company’s network services are now automated for Optical Transport Networks (OTN) and cloud-based networks.
Businesses using China Telecom’s Cloud-Network Autonomous Operations have seen significant benefits such as faster service deployment, fewer interruptions, and optimised resources. This system empowers companies to quickly adjust to new business needs, giving them a competitive edge in today’s fast-moving digital world.
Looking ahead, China Telecom is setting its sights on Level 4 (L4) autonomy by 2025. The roadmap includes unified cloud-network intelligence in which a fully integrated cloud and network system that adjusts automatically in real-time is created; AI-powered predictive analytics; and end-to-end automation where clients will be able to configure and modify services without any manual intervention.
Additionally, L4 will include edge intelligence, self-optimising resources, and integrated security, which provides real-time threat detection to keep data and networks safe.
By implementing cloud-network autonomous operations, China Telecom is laying the foundation for the future of telecom services.
