Telin clinched two wins at Asian Telecom Awards 2025

Telin scored wins in the Submarine Telecom Company of the Year - Indonesia and A2P SMS Monetisation of the Year - Indonesia categories at the Asian Telecom Awards 2025, which respectively honour the company’s advanced subsea cable systems and A2P monetisation solutions.

Advanced subsea cable systems

Telin is redefining the future of global communication with its expansive network of subsea cables. With over 250,000 kilometres of submarine cable infrastructure, Telin is a key partner for hyperscalers, enterprises, and telecom carriers worldwide. 

The company is actively involved in several submarine cable consortiums, contributing to key cable systems for intra Asia, Asia to America, and Asia to Europe connectivity such as Singapore Japan Cable (SJC), Southeast Asia US (SEA US), and Southeast Asia – Middle East – Western Europe (SEA-ME-WE) cable system. As global data demands surge, Telin continues to prioritise investments in advanced subsea cable systems with the latest projects such as PEACE, TOPAZ, SJC2, and BIFROST.

The PEACE Cable addresses capacity shortages between Asia and Europe. Spanning the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, it bypasses traditional chokepoints like the Malacca Strait. Some of its features include its ready-to-use ability with large capacity available, neutral active equipment connecting Singapore and France, and the lowest latency for seamless Asia-Europe traffic.

The TOPAZ Cable system, meanwhile, delivers ultra-low-latency connectivity between Asia and North America. It is the first subsea cable to directly connect Japan to Canada, with an extension to Seattle, USA. 

The BIFROST is the first subsea cable directly connecting Southeast Asia to the US West Coast, whilst SJC 2 cable systems connect Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan, addressing the region’s need for increased bandwidth and faster internet speeds.

In addition to these, Telin boasts its ambitious project, Indonesia Cable Express (ICE), which aims to establish Indonesia as a central hub for global digital connectivity. By 2028, ICE will integrate seven major cable systems into a seamless 100,000-kilometre network.

Through these initiatives, Telin has proven its expertise in meeting the rising demand for global data whilst addressing geopolitical and geographical challenges.

Driving growth and security in global enterprises

A report from Analysis Mason Research showed that the global demand for Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging is growing rapidly, with traffic expected to rise from 1,2 billion SMS in 2023 to 2,169 billion SMS by 2028. Whilst over-the-top (OTT) messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger continue to gain popularity, A2P SMS services remain a vital communication tool, especially in regions like Asia and Oceania.
