China Telecom (Asia Pacific) wins big at Asian Telecom Awards 2024

It brought home three major titles in the awards programme for its various groundbreaking initiatives.

Telecom company China Telecom (Asia Pacific) has been honoured at the recently held Asian Telecom Awards 2024 for the central role it has played in enhancing data centre infrastructures, as well as revolutionising the telecom industry with its cutting-edge solutions.

One of our pioneering initiatives involves a groundbreaking collaboration with a leading data centre provider, where China Telecom's Asia Direct Cable (ADC) segment successfully landed at the cable landing station.

With a remarkable capacity of over 140 Tbps, the ADC system stands as a cutting-edge submarine cable solution, boasting the highest number of fibre pairs and exceptional transmission capacity in Asia. It caters to burgeoning demands for high-speed data transmission, supporting 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud services, video streaming, and more.

This landing creates a pivotal interconnection point, fortifying global connectivity and data transmission capabilities, enabling seamless access for customers and offering a substantial boost to businesses across the region.

Furthermore, the collaboration establishes seamless connectivity from the cable landing station to our carrier-neutral data centre, providing users with access to an extensive ecosystem of providers, ensuring unparalleled reliability and efficiency.

“The ADC expansion stands as a crucial catalyst, empowering organisations throughout the Asia Pacific to expedite their digital transformation endeavours. This collaboration ensures a secure and dependable network gateway for businesses in Singapore,” the company said.

This submarine telecom infrastructure brought the Submarine Telecom Company of the Year – Singapore Category win for China Telecom.

Meanwhile, the company has also championed the advancement of data centre infrastructure through the Singapore Woodlands Data Centre, which marks a leap in delivering state-of-the-art solutions to meet the ever-evolving demands of the Asia Pacific region.

Strategically nestled within the northern precinct of Singapore, the Singapore Woodlands Data Centre stands as a beacon in the Asia-Pacific data hub landscape. This facility spans 25,000 square metres across multiple floors, housing 2,400 cabinets and featuring dual independent power supplies, ensuring unparalleled redundancy with 30 MVA of utility power.

It provides access to a plethora of global and regional carriers, offering a diverse range of services including dark fibre, wave channel services, Ethernet, MPLS, VPLS, internet transition, internet peering connection, CDN, and Colocation.

Moreover, the company sets a benchmark as a green data centre, boasting Singapore's lowest power consumption effectiveness at an impressive 1.34. It is also fortified with cutting-edge cooling systems, maintaining ideal temperature and humidity ranges that ensure a stable environment for customer equipment.

Drawing upon its expertise in server rooms and comprehensive operation and maintenance proficiency, China Telecom also offers a holistic suite of data centre solutions, encompassing professional colocation services, Internet Data Centre integration, remote processing maintenance, and premium interconnection services for server rooms.

This advancement brought recognition to the data centre as the winner of the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year - Singapore category.
