Epsilon Telecommunications clinches Cloud Initiative of the Year - Singapore at Asian Telecom Awards

The company has been developing cloud services that address growing customer needs in new markets, whilst simplifying access to challenging markets.

Global connectivity provider Epsilon Telecommunications, a KT Company, took home the Cloud Initiative of the Year - Singapore at the recently held Asian Telecom Awards. This accolade is a testament to Epsilon’s continual innovation within its global Cloud Connectivity portfolio. Epsilon created services that effectively cater to specific cloud demands across the customer footprint, with depth and breadth that goes beyond the basics in cloud connectivity.

It has partnered with a large ecosystem of cloud service providers (CSP), which includes providing direct and secure on-demand cloud connectivity to top leading global cloud providers - AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud and Oracle Cloud - as well as adding niche providers like KT Cloud, KINX IX Cloud, NHN Cloud, Naver Cloud and Tencent Cloud, along with popular SaaS providers such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Webex and Zoom to its ecosystem. This makes Epsilon one of the few international providers with multi-cloud connectivity to such a large ecosystem of providers.

This comes as the company strives to bring innovation to the increasingly competitive cloud market, making it easier, faster and more secure for businesses to move data, services and applications to and between multiple CSPs, both locally and globally. Such action empowers businesses to reap the best features of each cloud, reduce the impact of potential outages, and solve complex cloud scenarios.

“Many organisations choose our Cloud Connectivity portfolio as it offers three solutions tailored to different stages of customers’ cloud journeys, for single, multi-cloud and cloud-to-cloud requirements,” the company said.

Recently, Epsilon has been dedicated to developing cloud services that address growing customer needs in new markets, whilst simplifying and accelerating access to challenging markets. The company has observed that South Korea is one of the most digitally advanced countries in the world, but is difficult for international businesses to enter.

This led Epsilon to build three new points of presence (PoP) in the heart of Seoul, adding to its extensive global reach. Now, its customers can connect on-demand via Infiny, its Network as a Service platform, to South Korea’s digital infrastructure and ecosystems spanning data centres, CSPs and Internet service providers.

One of Epsilon’s clients, Indonesian tech company Tokopedia, serves the e-commerce boom across the country with secure multi-cloud. Epsilon’s managed cloud routing service connected

Tokopedia’s production environments in multiple cloud platforms via multiple high-speed Cloud Connects, serving the technology unicorn’s cloud-to-cloud needs via Epsilon’s private network.

Epsilon’s Cloud Connect provides a scalable and flexible solution for Tokopedia to grow its bandwidth according to rising e-commerce demands, and delivers a secure marketplace platform for its over 12 million merchants who serve buyers spread across 99% of districts in Indonesia.

“Epsilon's ability to provide managed service in interconnecting to multiple cloud providers across multiple regions and interconnect edges are the primary reasons we chose to work with them. We have been impressed with the performance and uptime of their network, which has consistently met our requirements. These factors have been instrumental in helping us achieve our mission to democratise commerce through technology in Indonesia,” Tokopedia SVP of Engineering, Ryan de Melo said.

The Asian Telecom Awards recognises the remarkable achievements and initiatives of Asia’s leading telecom companies, as well as those who stood out and were able to navigate their way through various market challenges whilst providing relevant and award-winning products and services to their clients.
