Saudi Arabia to see accelerated 5G expansion
New agreement supports country's digital goals.
Digital enabler stc Group is tapping longstanding partner Ericsson to accelerate 5G expansion and the rollout of advanced technologies in Saudi Arabia.
Through a new five-year Master Frame Agreement (MFA), the target is to boost technology adoption whilst expediting the delivery of digital infrastructure in support of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
"We know how committed stc Group is to ensure that Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 becomes a reality," commented Ericsson Saudi Arabia Head and Vice President Håkan Cervell. "We share that commitment and will continue to work closely and productively with stc."
Cervell cited the benefit of driving innovation and economic competitiveness goals, not only for stc as a partner but for its role in the country's vision.
"By leveraging advanced technologies, we aim to deliver cutting-edge connectivity that empowers our customers, accelerates enterprise innovation, and supports the Kingdom's ambition to build a globally competitive digital economy," said stc Supply Chain VP Abdullah M. Alowini.

The technologies featured in the MFA include 5G Standalone, 5G Advanced, Massive MIMO (multiple input multiple output), Ericsson Radio System products, cloud-native platforms, and network management solutions.
