Ooredoo Kuwait wins two awards at Asian Telecom Awards 2026
Strong performance, network leadership, and executive direction set Ooredoo Kuwait apart in a competitive market.
Ooredoo Kuwait was recognised in the Telecom Company of the Year - Kuwait and CEO of the Year categories at the Asian Telecom Awards 2026, reflecting its operational strength and leadership direction during a period of accelerated digital transformation.
During 2024-2025, Ooredoo Kuwait reported strong financial results, with revenue growth of 9% year on year in the first nine months of 2025. EBITDA rose by 19% to KWD232m, whilst net profit increased by 61%, supported by postpaid, B2B, and digital services growth. The customer base expanded by 3% to 27.3 million, driven by 5G-Advanced adoption and digital-first initiatives.
Network and technology investments also played a central role in the company’s performance. Ooredoo Kuwait advanced its 5G-Advanced readiness through spectrum reallocation and network modernisation, alongside the introduction of AI-enabled capabilities for customer experience, network planning, and enterprise services. These efforts supported higher-capacity connectivity and positioned the company to deliver next-generation consumer and business solutions.
Under CEO Abdulaziz Al Babtain’s leadership, Ooredoo Kuwait expanded into digital platforms and lifestyle services. The launch of 51 in collaboration with Kuwait’s Ministry of Information extended digital entertainment access across smart devices and airline platforms, whilst AURA Mobile introduced a fully digital mobile offering that combined connectivity with retail rewards. These initiatives diversified revenue streams and strengthened customer engagement.
Sustainability and workforce development also remained key priorities. Ooredoo Kuwait reduced network energy consumption through modernisation, expanded green site deployments, and aligned its ESG agenda with national objectives. At the same time, flexible work policies, leadership development programmes, and investment in national talent supported organisational resilience and employee engagement.
