The company received recognition for its performance in mobile application development and telecommunications operations.
VIETTEL (CAMBODIA) PTE. LTD. received two honours at the Asian Telecom Awards 2026 in the Mobile App of the Year - Cambodia and Telecom Company of the Year - Cambodia categories. The awards reflected measured outcomes across digital service delivery and nationwide telecommunications operations, assessed against infrastructure scale, service continuity, customer reach, and platform performance within the Cambodian market.
Expanding nationwide access to licensed television
The Mobile App of the Year - Cambodia title was awarded to VIETTEL (CAMBODIA) PTE. LTD. for TV360 by Metfone, a licensed television streaming application developed for use across mobile phones, smart televisions, and other connected devices. The platform allowed television services to reach users in areas covered by mobile networks, including locations where fixed broadcast infrastructure was not available. Access to licensed programming was therefore not limited by device type or physical location.
Market uptake of TV360 remained stable within Cambodia’s mobile television segment. VIETTEL (CAMBODIA) PTE. LTD. recorded a leading share in this category during the assessment period. Distribution of licensed content took place at scale whilst remaining compatible with standard mobile connectivity, reflecting a deployment model aligned with existing network coverage and established viewing patterns.
Delivering nationwide network coverage and operational stability at scale
Recognition as Telecom Company of the Year - Cambodia reflected the breadth and operating performance of VIETTEL (CAMBODIA) PTE. LTD.’s national network. Coverage extended to up to 98% of the population. More than 6,000 mobile base stations, supported by a fibre-optic backbone deployed across provinces, formed the physical foundation for service delivery. Mobile, broadband, and enterprise connectivity were available across urban centres as well as less densely populated areas.
Network availability remained stable throughout the assessment period. Real-time monitoring and traffic analysis informed capacity decisions, whilst forward planning reduced reliance on reactive intervention. Higher data demand was accommodated through established operational processes, resulting in consistent service performance across the network footprint.
Commercial fifth-generation services entered operation across twenty out of twenty-two branches following a phased deployment schedule. Infrastructure readiness and subscriber demand informed the rollout sequence. More than eight million mobile users were served during the same period, with over 95% migrated to fourth-generation services. Fibre-based broadband connectivity continued to support residential and enterprise use cases, alongside customer support delivered through a combination of physical service locations and digital self-service platforms.
