South Korea leads Asia in mobile network index
Singapore and Taiwan tied at 18th globally.
South Korea ranked first globally in Opensignal’s Global Network Excellence Index, leading Asian markets in mobile network performance.
The index evaluates markets based on three pillars: Time on 4G/5G, Excellent Consistent Quality, and Download Speed. South Korea ranked first for Time on 4G/5G, 10th for Excellent Consistent Quality, and second for Download Speed.
Singapore and Taiwan were the next strongest Asian performers, tying at 18th globally. Taiwan ranked sixth for Time on 4G/5G, whilst Singapore placed 11th for Download Speed and 12th for Time on 4G/5G.
Japan ranked 34th globally, supported by an 11th-place finish for Time on 4G/5G, though it placed 66th for Download Speed. Hong Kong ranked 47th overall, with its strongest showing in Time on 4G/5G at 18th.
India ranked 43rd globally, ahead of Malaysia at 44th. In Southeast Asia, Brunei and Thailand tied at 49th, followed by Vietnam at 55th, Indonesia at 56th, the Philippines at 68th, Cambodia at 80th, Laos at 104th, and Myanmar at 108th.
Middle Eastern markets also featured strongly in Asia’s rankings, with Oman placing 25th globally, Bahrain 26th, Kuwait 35th, the United Arab Emirates 40th, Qatar 42nd, and Saudi Arabia 46th.
