Indonesia mobile services revenue to reach $12.1b by 2030
Rising data consumption and 5G adoption are expected to offset declining voice and messaging revenue.
Indonesia’s mobile services revenue is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of about 3.4%, from $10.2b in 2025 to $12.1b in 2030, according to GlobalData.
Mobile data services will drive the expansion, with revenue forecast to grow at a 4.8% CAGR over the period. GlobalData attributed the outlook to rising mobile internet subscriptions and the adoption of higher-revenue 5G services.
Average monthly data usage over mobile networks is expected to rise from 20GB in 2025 to 30.3GB in 2030, supported by growing consumption of online video, social media and other data-intensive applications.
Meanwhile, mobile voice and messaging revenue is projected to decline as consumers increasingly use internet-based communication platforms and operators bundle free voice minutes with service plans.
Although 4G remained Indonesia’s leading mobile technology by subscriptions in 2025, its market share is expected to fall as more users migrate to 5G.
GlobalData said 5G adoption will be supported by the wider availability of affordable devices, expanded network coverage and more premium data plans. The Indonesian government aims to increase 5G coverage to more than 30% by the end of 2030.
Telkomsel is expected to retain its lead in mobile subscriptions through 2030. The operator’s 4G network covered more than 97% of Indonesia’s population as of March 2026, whilst it had deployed over 2,500 5G base stations across 56 cities by mid-2025.
