Singapore ranks 4th in Asia’s mobile network excellence index in Q1
It ranked 2nd for download speed and 3rd for 4G/5G in Opensignal network excellence.
Singapore ranked 4th overall in the East Asia and Pacific region in the first quarter of 2026 mobile network experience index, maintaining its ranking from the fourth quarter of the past year, according to Opensignal.
The ranking is based on analysis of key mobile network performance indicators, including Time on 4G/5G, Excellent Consistent Quality, and Download Speed, using high-end device data.
Time on 4G/5G measures the proportion of time users are connected to modern mobile networks, reflecting coverage and accessibility, according to Opensignal.
Excellent Consistent Quality (ECQ) measures how reliably networks support everyday high-demand activities such as video calls, streaming, and digital payments.
Download Speed reflects the capacity of networks to support current demand and scale for future data usage.
“The index is designed to assess how well mobile networks deliver real-world connectivity today and how ready they are to support future digital demand,” Opensignal said. It added that the index provides a data-driven assessment of mobile network performance.
In individual metrics, Singapore ranked 3rd for Time on 4G/5G, 10th for Excellent Consistent Quality, and 2nd for Download Speed in the region.
South Korea retained the top position in East Asia and the Pacific, ranking 1st overall. It also ranked 1st across all three metrics measured by the index.
The index compares mobile network experience across countries in the region based on user experience indicators rather than coverage or infrastructure alone.
