ZTE, CIMB expand partnership to support 5G rollout in Southeast Asia
They will extend their financing and telecom collaboration in digital infrastructure projects across the region.
ZTE Corporation and CIMB Bank Berhad have expanded their strategic partnership to support 5G deployment and digital infrastructure development across ASEAN, according to a memorandum of understanding signed in Kuala Lumpur.
ZTE said the collaboration combines its telecommunications technology capabilities with CIMB’s financing and banking solutions to support the deployment of next-generation digital infrastructure, particularly 5G networks.
The partnership will extend beyond Malaysia to include Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia, with plans for broader regional expansion.
Under the MoU, both companies will explore infrastructure financing, regional network expansion and cross-border liquidity management whilst they aim to integrate technical capabilities with financial solutions to support digital infrastructure projects involving operators, regulators, government agencies and investors.
ZTE said the cooperation builds on an existing relationship with CIMB in Malaysia, where both parties have worked on 5G rollout initiatives aligned with national digital strategies with the collaboration also including foreign exchange services, transaction banking and cash management solutions.
